Grinding and Classifying Plant

Grinding and Classifying Plant

Bauermeister Grinding and Classifying plants are used for the production of superfine powders and dusts with particle sizes down to 10 microns and finer. The plant is designed as a closed loop system. The product is ground on a Universal Mill, Type UM. The downstream classifier ensures that the pre-set maximum particle size is not exceeded and oversized product is extracted and returned to the mill for subsequent regrinding.

The mill as well as the classifier can also be operated as an open system. Two fractions are generated by directly discharging it from the classifier and not returning the oversized product to the mill.

A classifier, as a matter of principle, will always separate the infed product into two fractions, i.e. a fine and a coarse fraction. Adapted to the respective requirements the classifier can be equipped with different classifier wheels and/or classifier heads. Extremely sharp cut points are realized in both fractions, in the plant on display and optionally available, through the consideration of a secondary classifying stage and other technical features. This ensures the production of a superfine powder on one hand and a coarse, but dustless fraction on the other hand.

Bauermeister Grinding and Classifying plants are available in seven different sizes with capacities ranging from 50 kg/h to 6 t/h.
Depending on the product specific properties a Bauermeister Gap Mill, Type GM could come into question alternatively instead of the Universal Mill.

Explosion pressure shock resistant up to 10 bar overpressure. They are, of course, in accordance with the ATEX directive 94/9/EG. I.e. no additional explosion protection measures and equipment such as rupture discs, explosion suppression and/or extinguishing equipment will be required for a save operation when handling explosion-prone products. If required the plant can also be designed for operation under an inert atmosphere.
