PROBAT has held a global position for decades and is one of the market leaders in roasting machines and plants for the coffee and food industries. Today cocoa, malt and nut processing is a further important branch of our company.

Since its establishment in 1868 the development, manufacturing and sale of processing equipment needed to make roasted coffee from green coffee has been a focus of the company. Early on we started applying our knowledge to the roasting of malt, cocoa and nuts too. To this day we have sold over 110,000 roasting machines. By now our range of products reaches from shop roasters to large-scale roasters and includes whole roasting plants, industrial grinders, electric and electronic control units as well as spare parts.

Globally PROBAT employs over 500 people who are - besides in Germany - distributed across several companies in Italy, the US and Brazil. PROBAT exports about 80 percent of its products to Europe, North America as well as Central and South America.
