Tangential Roaster

Its unique flexibility is typical for a PROBAT tangential roasting machine which is made possible by the separation of 1. hot air for the energy supply and 2. by the mechanical movement of the roasting product. A shovel mechanism rotating inside the stationary roasting bin provides optimum and gentle mixing of the coffee whereby tangential incoming roasting air transmits the thermal energy mainly convectively onto the roasting product. After preliminary cooling with water, the roasting product flows into the cooler where it is evenly distributed and air cooled afterwards in the fluidised bed. The closed design of the roasting bin also enables the processing of small beans and breakage. Unique in the world: The system for preheating green coffee developed by PROBAT creates potential energy savings of up to 25% for the JUPITER series and increases the output to up to six (metric) tons per hour.
