Blanching and Granulating

Blanching – A Perfect Solution

Blanching, i.e. the removal of chaff from peanuts and hazelnuts, takes place on a peeling machine provided with either brush rollers or abrasive sleeves. The nut kernels are dosed into ducts arranged side by side and rotated by means of peeling rollers against a sliding wall. Depending on the origin and degree of roasting of the nuts, the chaff is slit to a larger or lesser extent and removed by rolling. The intensity of blanching is adjustable; an aspiration system removes nut grit and small chaff particles.

Granulation – Big In Grinding

Granulation of the roasted and blanched nut kernels or grinding to specific size fractions takes place by means of rollers. These are smooth or fluted and rotate in opposite directions, whereby one or two roller pairs can be used. The product falls into the gap between the rollers, where it is crushed. Fineness variation takes place by speed variation, change in gap size or roll fluting. Subsequent fraction takes place on a following screening machine.
