Insights from Our Team

  • What makes PROBAT special for me?

I started at PROBAT in 2019 with a combined engineering program – a mix of technical training and academic study. Today, I’m pursuing my master’s in electrical engineering and working as a student assistant in the Research & Innovation department.

I support research projects, develop models for system behavior, and help design advanced control concepts. I especially appreciate the trust placed in me and the freedom to contribute my own ideas. No day is the same – and that’s what makes it exciting.

Even when working remotely, I feel fully integrated into the team. The open communication, friendly atmosphere, and variety of tasks keep me motivated every day.

  • Why do I enjoy working at PROBAT?

My name is Kerstin, I’m 23 and from Haldern. I joined PROBAT in 2020. I first trained as an Industrial Management Assistant, followed by a dual study program in International Business and Management, which I completed in 2024. I am currently studying for a Master’s degree in Business Engineering in Bocholt.

During my training, I worked in various departments including HR, purchasing, and product management. Since late 2023, I have been working as a working student in the product management team, where I support activities such as maintaining the internal product information portal, preparing ROI analyses and process flows, designing presentations, and assisting with market launches.

One of my highlights was visiting a production site as part of a major customer project, as well as a visit to a client in the Netherlands. I also have great memories of events like Interpack and the roasting championships.

From day one, I felt welcome at PROBAT, thanks to a well-structured onboarding process. I especially appreciate the friendly atmosphere, the supportive team spirit, and the exciting products.

  • How did my journey at PROBAT begin?

I joined PROBAT in August 2017, starting with a vocational training as an industrial clerk. Later, I worked as a student in After Sales – Spare Parts. Since March 2025, I’ve been in the Product & Roasting Technology team during my thesis phase while studying mechanical engineering with a focus on process engineering.

In the spare parts team, I handled customer inquiries, created quotes, and managed orders – and that’s where my interest in technology began. Now, I focus on analyzing and optimizing our coffee roasting systems – an exciting field with lots of potential for innovation.

What motivates me? Every day brings something new. I especially remember the Rhine cruise for PROBAT’s 150th anniversary, on-site service visits, and lab tests during my internship phase.

I quickly found my footing here – thanks to the structured training and supportive culture. The technical processes behind a cup of coffee still fascinate me. The mix of product diversity and customer interaction keeps things fresh.
