Virtually any gaseous organic substance can be burned cleanly. This also applies to the volatile components of the roasting exhaust air produced during coffee roasting. For this purpose, different exhaust air treatment systems are used depending on the desired degree of purification. In the PROBAT RV afterburner, the roasting exhaust air is heated to approx. 450 °C oxidation temperature by means of an additional fan burner. At these high temperatures, the visible roasting gases and odor emissions are oxidized and thus significantly reduced. 

In the RVS special afterburner, the roasting exhaust air is heated to approx. 750 °C. Due to the even higher temperatures, product-specific odors and visible components are completely eliminated.
