PROFORTE

With the PROFORTE, PROBAT for sure secures the technological edge in exhaust air cleaning. From all offered treatment systems, it has by far the lowest energy demand, while at the same time achieving the highest cleaning efficiency. This is possible because the PROFORTE takes maximum advantage of the available residual energy by using an integrated waste heat recovery system. 

The PROFORTE also stands out due to its particularly high environmental performance: Harmful substances typical for burners such as carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides (NOx) cannot even develop in the first place as this trendsetting technology works with flameless regenerative thermal oxidation, which makes an extra burner unnecessary. This results in cleaned exhaust air emissions, that are considerably below the limits called for by the German TA-Luft guidelines for hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide and significantly below the recommended values for nitrogen oxides (NOx).

The roasting gases are passed through a ceramic bed, inside which temperatures of 900 - 1,100 °C prevail, resulting in self-sustaining oxidation of the emissions without causing the nitrogen oxides typical in the operation of catalytic converters. The ceramic bed is heated and then kept at temperature by the reaction of the roasting gases. To keep the high temperature in the center of the bed, the flow direction is cyclically reversed. Thus, a thermal efficiency of up to 98% is achieved. 

Optionally, the system can be equipped with a bin that buffers pollutant peaks by holding the exhaust air that would otherwise escape unpurified during the changeover process. Once the flow direction has been reversed, the exhaust air is then fed back into the cleaning process.
