Whether at PROBAT's headquarters in Emmerich or at customers' and partners' around the world, we are happy to share with you our extensive coffee knowledge, some of which we have acquired through our own research.

The PROBAT Training Center at our company headquarters in Emmerich is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and offers you wide-ranging training opportunities:

  • In our training rooms, sample roasters and small roasters in various sizes are available to customers for test roasts. Here, roasting processes can be comprehensibly understood and practically implemented.
  • In the laboratory, the focus is on quality control. Here, green, roasted and ground coffee samples are analyzed using numerous methods.
  • The extensively equipped R&D Center offers customers the opportunity to test various PROBAT roasters and grinders under real conditions.

As of 2019, we are a "Premier Training Campus" certified by the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA). Likewise, our trainers are "Authorized SCA Trainers" (ASTs) and qualified to train and conduct exams under the SCA Coffee Skills Program.

Ilvana and Marcel are the trainers and consultants at the PROBAT Training Centre and mainly advise industrial sector customers. The work of the Authorized SCA Trainers (ASTs) includes not only the development of new machines and systems, but also the associated transfer of knowledge. Here the focus lies on green coffee, roasting and sensory skills over roasting trials for product development to operator training on PROBAT roasters and the corresponding control systems. They also train the PROBAT employees, thus extending the know-how within the PROBAT Group.

Ilvana holds a bachelor’s degree in food technology and a master’s degree in food sciences. Marcel is a trained distiller and food engineer with a focus on beverage technology.
