Colour Control
Continuous measurement of the coffee bean color during roasting
Maximum Reproducibility
- Continuous measurement of the surface color of coffee beans enables precise control of the roasting process, guaranteeing maximum reproducibility of roasting results.
Maximum Performance
- Eliminating external influences reduces the number of faulty batches and maximizes output.
Maximum Efficiency
- Inline color measurement and the direct display of measured values in the machine control system eliminate the need for manual laboratory analysis and shorten roasting cycles.
Smart sensors. Smarter processes
Traditional roasting control relies primarily on time and product temperature. COLOUR CONTROL takes precision to the next level by continuously monitoring the surface color of the coffee beans throughout the entire roasting process – making results more consistent and reproducible.
Installed directly in the roasting chamber, the sensor uses two infrared LEDs to emit light, which is reflected by the beans and detected by the system. This reflected infrared radiation is converted into electrical signals and transmitted via a fibre optic cable to the integrated measuring unit.
An advanced algorithm then links this real-time color data with the current energy input, enabling precise control over the roasting curve. Once the beans reach a preset color value, the system automatically stops the roasting process – ensuring optimal flavor development while reducing the variability caused by traditional temperature-based control methods.
