Insights and experiences from the team

  • What excites me about my role at PROBAT

I’ve been part of the PROBAT team since 2011 and today I lead the Engineering Department. Together with my team, I make sure that our customer-specific projects are developed and implemented in the best possible way – from the first idea to the final technical concept.

This means designing our process lines so that they fit seamlessly into the customer's site, comply with all local regulations, and are tailored precisely to the product requirements. We place great importance on usability, efficiency, and system uptime. That’s why innovation is at the heart of what we do – whether through completely new designs or through targeted improvements of existing systems.

One of the most exciting aspects of my work is the close collaboration with our clients. These interactions often lead to joint development projects, which make our work dynamic and hands-on.

What drives me personally is helping the team grow, exploring new technologies, and pushing beyond established ways of thinking. I enjoy shaping progress together.

  • What inspires me at PROBAT?

I have been working in Sales at PROBAT's Dresden site since 2018. Together with my team, I am responsible for sales engineering - from design and system planning to preparing quotations for cocoa and chocolate processing projects.

I am particularly proud of the successful planning and implementation of complex chocolate production systems and the technical discussions with many committed customers. The exciting projects and the constant stream of new challenges keep me motivated.

At PROBAT, I particularly appreciate the flexibility and the fascinating tasks in the confectionery industry. My tip for new colleagues: Don’t hesitate to ask - the team is helpful and happy to provide support.

  • Why do I like working at PROBAT?

I have been with PROBAT (formerly RDW) since 2004 and work in the stainless steel and welding department in Koog aan de Zaan. My work is highly varied - from sheet metal and pipework to construction, welding, and assembly, including international assignments.

Even as a child, I wanted to pursue a trade – inspired by my father and my uncle. From the age of 13, I knew I wanted to become a welder. The fascination with creating something with your own hands has stayed with me ever since.

A real highlight was when all 23 high-pressure welds on a challenging project passed inspection on the first attempt – that was a great feeling!

What motivates me in the morning? Definitely the great team atmosphere and the variety in my work. At PROBAT, I particularly enjoy the mix of exciting mechanical engineering, great customers, and the chance to occasionally work abroad.

My tip for new colleagues: Just get involved - that’s the best way to find your place in the team.

  • Why I enjoy working at PROBAT

I joined PROBAT in February 2023 and have been working in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on cocoa processes ever since. My responsibilities include creating technical drawings, modeling machine parts, and setting up project layouts.

One thing I’m especially proud of is being part of the development of the direct drive ball mill – from the first steps during my internship to seeing it run successfully two years later. Another highlight was my first international work trip to Malaysia and Singapore, where I gained valuable hands-on experience and insight into the environments where our machines are used.

What motivates me is the constant challenge of improving machines and processes. I work in a team with a great atmosphere, and I enjoy coming up with new technical solutions that push things forward.

My advice for new colleagues: Get to know who can help you with what – there are many experts at PROBAT, and you can learn a lot from them.

  • Why do I like being part of PROBAT?

I have been a part of the team PROBAT Dresden since 2024 and I am responsible for the engineering. Even as a child, I wanted to develop things like Gyro Gearloose, and now I get to witness firsthand how our customers produce up to 1,000 tons of chocolate a day.

It motivates me every day to work together with clever minds, learn from one another, and continuously improve together. I particularly appreciate the open culture at PROBAT, where even unconventional ideas are welcomed.

My advice to new colleagues: just be yourself, this is a place where you can grow and contribute.
