The Heidenauer PRF Pre-Refiner is a two-roll refiner equipped with specially cast rolls designed to deliver superior grinding performance while minimizing wear. It provides an optimal solution for the consistent pre-refining of chocolate paste, ensuring ideal mass plasticity and fineness for the subsequent fine refining process.

The PRF prepares chocolate paste for the FRF Fine Refiner by reducing particle size, particularly crystal sugar, to a target fineness of 150–300 µm (depending on recipe and raw materials). Its patented inline gap adjustment system allows real-time control of fineness, plasticity, and throughput without machine stoppage. Hydraulic roller protection minimizes downtime.
