PARTIAL RECIRCULATION

Responsible consumption is a way to reduce our carbon footprint. PROBAT does not only feel obliged to reduce CO₂ of its own production processes, but also strives to constantly enhance the performance of its products and services in terms of energy savings and efficiency. The PROBAT partial recirculation system uses the hot exhaust air after the actual roasting process by piping it back into the burner, thus significantly reducing exhaust air volume and energy consumption of a roasting machine. Here, in contrast to a full recirculation, costly CO monitoring can be dispensed with due to the intelligent process control.

After completion of the roasting process, generally the cleaned exhaust air is discharged into the open air via a chimney, leading to valuable heating energy loss in the process. The PROBAT partial recirculation system uses part of this heating energy otherwise emanated unutilized into the open and feeds it directly back into the roasting process. This way, not only exhaust air emissions are reduced by approx. 70%, but also less fossil fuels are needed for energy generation. In comparison with a non-recirculating machine, there is an energy saving of roundabout 30%. In combination with a low-temperature catalyzer (LT), which has its own heater, savings are even up to 40%. The advantage here is that the roasting and exhaust gas cleaning processes are carried out independently.
